Cell phone scammers of the worst kind
Summary: infografx_enterprises shared a frustrating experience with a purchase from a highly rated seller on eBay. They received a damaged, used phone instead of the new one promised, and were only partially refunded after being falsely accused of causing the damage. I purchased a cell phone from a 99.4% approval seller. When the phone was delivered, it was trashed and wasn't even the phone we ordered, The phone wouldn't even boot up and the screen was defective; it just didn't work at all. It was suppose to be "new in box," instead it was a used phone. The box it came in was torn and had been poorly taped back together. I took several pictures and sent them to the seller. Upon return of the phone, the seller said I damaged the phone and only gave me half of my purchase price. Ebay did cover the other half, fortunately. So, eventually I got all my money back.
I communicated with the seller throughout this process, but as soon as they received the phone they blamed me for the damage, hence only half my purchase price. This is a scam operation. I don't know how they are able to get a 99.4 approval rating, but I definitely wasn't the first one who got scammed based on their negative reviews.
I notice I hadn't left a review. I needed to tell others about this seller. As soon as I filed it, I got a robo-response about how they will "make it right"; even though in my review I had said I had already received my refund. They send me the same message as I had gotten a few weeks before. I responded to them reminding them that it was already taken care of. They sent me a message this morning saying how they rejected my claims because I had damaged the phone as stated by the "warehouse team." Ebay has to stop these sellers from scamming buyers. This is unacceptable! I will not use that seller ever again, and will probably go to Amazon for everything else. Is ebay actively policing these scammers. Ebay is quickly becoming an unsafe place to shop.
