Case ruled in MY favor, yet negative feedback about the case "will not be removed"
Recently, eBay ruled a case in my favor after the man who wanted a free movie was refunded by them. I was assured by FOUR customer service reps that "the system" will AUTOMATICALLY remove the negative feedback since the case was ruled in my favor --- this is a lie.
I got the following email as proof.
We reviewed the case and have decided to issue the buyer a refund of US $16.95 without any impact to you. |
This case is now closed. You are not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, -------> and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation. <-------- |
You can view the details of the case in the Resolution Center. |

·2 years agoNo. It absolutely does not. eBay stopped using subjective feedback ratings in favor of objective criteria years ago.
Did you win on the initial ruling (after buyer "Ask[ed] eBay to step in") or did you lose that and appeal? I suspect that the system might be set up to use the former for determining feedback blocking/removal and they didn't think it important to consider rulings on appeals.
Next time you talk to CS be sure to get them to remove the buyer's follow up which definitely is against policy in referring to the results of an investigation.

OP2 years agoI am well aware of what you wrote. The fact remains. They are liars and other people reading this should be made aware of how they lie. .. community board and all.

Mentor2 years agoI understand your opinion. I'm disputing nothing. And everyone who contacts support can draw their own conclusions. I myself have had great experiences and not-so-great experiences with support over the past 19 years.
I'm merely suggesting that if you want help, using that terminology is not the best way to get it. You can take or leave my advice. It was free of charge. 😊
BTW, I apologize for a typo in my first response. I wrote, "All I can do about the feedback removal is to check in with eBay again to ask when the removal will occur." I meant to write, "All YOU can do about the feedback removal is to check in with eBay again to ask when the removal will occur." Sorry for the confusion.

OP2 years agoConsidering 5 different customer service reps DID lie to me, that makes them liars. That is just a fact.

Mentor2 years agoFeedback is NOT considered in your performance evaluation - only the categories shown on your Seller Dashboard are considered.
All I can do about the feedback removal is to check in with eBay again to ask when the removal will occur. Let them know you were told it would be removed for four other agents and it's still there. If you want help, I would refrain from calling them liars and useless, and just calmly stick to the facts. Have them look at your account to see the record of the previous conversations and see if they can ask a supervisor to join the call to figure out how to make this happen.
At the link below, you can request a call back from eBay by clicking Have us call you on the left side of the page. If you don't see that option, click Chat with our automated assistant. Then type "agent" at the bottom in the chat box. You'll see an option to request a call back there.
