Case closed
I bought an item back in late December and never received it. I have tried to contact the seller with no results. I opened a case but Ebay says it can not help as too much time has passed. Originally each time I checked status on my order the ship date was moved out. I was patient. No results. I thought the seller was changing the ship date but I think it was Ebay that kept changing it. I then asked Ebay if the $60 I paid to them was paid to the deadbeat seller and I got no reply. Is it the position of Ebay to keep my money if the seller will not ship my item or even answer my request in a timely fashion? I received a message today that my appeal case is now closed. It appears I can't reopen it or get a live person to talk to me. Anyone know how to get ahold of a real live person at Ebay ?

You should still have time to get refunded by your credit card company. Call them ASSP!

OP1 year agoSo because I tried with no replies from a deadbeat seller and didn't file a claim until March 3 from my purchase of December 25, 2024, my $60 purchase money stays with Ebay? I call that bullish!t. I did everything I could to contact the seller. Ebay did nothing. Granted I wasn't harassing the seller daily like I should have. Then 30 days go by and they close my case.
High time for a rule change I think.
If I get my credit card company involved what are the chances they will pull money back from Ebay/ Pretty much nil.

Mentor1 year agoIf the time has passed for eBay to get involved then they will not get involved. You can go back to your payment source and see if you can request a charge back. This can usually be done for 180 days from payment.
When eBay pays the seller depends on how long the seller has been selling. Long time sellers get paid before an item is shown as delivered unless the item is valued over $1,000 or the item is going through the Authenticity Guaranty Program. Newer sellers do not get paid until the item shows as delivered or 21 days passes.
