Cart not functioning.
Hello,
For the last 2 days, my eBay cart has been completely unusable. I frequently buy more than one item at a time from a seller, often to save on shipping or to take advantage of a volume discount, so I use the "Add to Cart" function almost exclusively. But now, when I add something to my cart, it disappears within a few seconds. This happens on all PC browsers and the Android app.
The help articles suggest that this is likely because the item has sold, the seller has removed it, or the seller has blocked me for some reason. None of these are the case. This problem occurs with every item I add from every seller. I have also verified that my "Saved for Later" list is completely empty, so I am not hitting the item limit.
I am able to use the Buy-It-Now option to purchase single items. I have also tested logging out and using the cart as a guest. This works as well. It just asks me to log in at the point of the transaction, and I was able to complete a purchase. I also tried logging into another country's version of eBay, such as ebay.ca (I'm in the USA) and the cart works fine there as well. This makes me think there's some kind of corrupted session token that is stuck with my .com cart on the US servers. At one point during a cart failure, I even see that eBay is showing as "Down Forever? The site has been unreachable for more than 10 days" on the isitdownrightnow site. Clearly that's inaccurate, but it seems to indicate I am not alone in having issues with the site.
I have tried several things to fix this:
- Refreshed all history and cookies from my browser (though I know this can't be the cause across all platforms).
- Reset my password, hoping it would globally reset any persistent token issues with my cart.
- Deactivated all 3rd party API connections in my security settings.
None of these have worked. I have had no luck so far, so I am hoping this community may have seen a stubborn server-sync issue like this before and might know how to trigger a fix. I'm able to use the site, but in a very crippled manner and would love a resolution.
Thanks,
~CF
