If your cart says “Empty” but you can still see items in it, that sounds more like a display/session issue than normal cart behavior.
First, click the item titles and make sure the listings are still active. eBay can automatically remove items from the cart if they sold, ended, expired, or the seller changed buyer requirements.
If the listings are still active, try refreshing the page, signing out and back in, or checking the cart from another browser/device. If you are using the app, also try eBay.com in a browser to see if the cart displays correctly there.

@vinceus.r6c1bnsmn ,
Your cart might be showing Empty but still have items in it that have Ended, they are supposed to be removed when that happens but there may be a glitch. Open your cart and click on one of the titles to see if it sold already. If you are no longer interested in the items in your cart, click on the remove item button for each one until your cart is empty.
FYI, It is best not to use the Cart unless you intend to buy an item quickly. At check out you may miss the Pay for all items message and end up having to pay for all of them.
There is an option to Pay only this seller.
It is better to save items you may want to buy in the future, in your Watch List which you can customize by category. If you not intend to buy more than one item from a seller you can pay directly from the listing and do not have to add it to the cart.
Placing items in the cart and your watch list does not reserve them for you, others may buy still them until you pay for them.
