Car selling scams on eBay
We were directed by a seller/dealership to buy off eBay, because there was no BIN on the auction and didn't have enough time for the auction to end, because another eBay dealership couldn't deliver the first car we wanted, again, no BIN, only "make an offer," and weeks went by, we needed a car! The second dealership gave us a delivered price by the end of the week, and we said Great! They wrote that the car ran great, and we saw the Carfax mileage inconsistency was a recording error, corrected a few months after. Somebody added 100,000 miles after a three month gap: impossible, of course.
The dealership flat bedded the car to us with engine codes cleared. That lasted a few minutes, driving the car off the flatbed. The temp tag and title still had not arrived as promised to come before the actual delivery of the car. Excuses were orchestrated to set up the "sting." How can we blacklist this dealership? We now realize there was no BIN, and they contrived that they had only the option to end the auction, in order to sell us the car and get it to us quickly, since we specified we'd wanted their price to purchase delivered to our area. Ebay needs to remove this seller in order to protect members. The other dealership asking for bids on a car not ready to be sold needs to be straightened out too! They led us on for weeks.

Mentor2 years ago@adrvas9321 So sorry this happened. Car sales are non binding and either party can walk away from the sale. Cars should be paid for in person OR after you have a mechanic inspect the car to make sure it runs as stated.
You may have some protection under the eBay Motors Vehicle Purchase Protection >

Seller can end auctions early to sell to the high bidder if they wish, that is not against eBay rules. Think of eBay Motors Vehicle listings like classified ads.
