Can/will ebay help a transaction where the seller can't see the buyer's offer?

Contacted seller, we agreed on a price less than the posted original...seller asked me to submit offer, I did, ebay tells me my bid has been refused, seller says he never received the offer. Can you help resolve? Thanks

@planxty You will need to work this out with the seller. My advice is to have the seller END the current listing and relist at the agreed on amount and be sure to pay right away so someone else doesn't buy it.

Happy ending, despite the impasse..luckily, the seller figured it out, decreased the price and I was able to buy...hafta say, though, in the absence of actual human support, it wouldn't have worked otherwise. Sure miss having peeps at the end of a phone line! Cheers, all.

Does the listing have the MAKE OFFER option? If not, and you sent the seller an offer via ebay messages, the seller can use the REPLY WITH OFFER option to send the offer to you.
