Can't sell anything
Ebay used to be a place you could sell things. Today, nothing at all sells. I have not changed the way I do things. Why is this ?

OP2 years agoNo, that's not it. I'm not trying to be a large quantity seller on Ebay. I've never had to be. You don't need lots of items. All you need is the one thing that someone is searching for. I'm not trying to make a living off of Ebay. I'm just using Ebay to clear my house. I have been doing this for quite a while. I have been able to sell lots of odd things given a little time. It's just that it seems that things have stopped for some reason. And I'm not doing anything different than I have for years. I have actually had better luck selling things on Facebook Marketplace recently.
Maybe its because Ebay is now changing sales tax in every state and because UPS drivers have to make $170,000,00 a year now. And then add in more online buying options. Ebay may just not be as viable selling platform than it used to.

OP2 years agoI am not trying to be an Ebay super seller. All I am doing is selling things to clear my house. I have been doing this over the past 10+ years. I have been getting 1, 2 or maybe 3 sales a month over this time. That is all that I am expecting. I have not gotten a sale for the last 3 or 4 months. I have listed all kinds of things, old software, computer parts, leather coats, propane heaters, power connectors, 100s of feet of wire, 35 mm camera stuff, etc.., etc.., etc.., it goes on. If I wait a little time, all of this stuff sells.
As an example, I currently have listed a bass guitar. According to Ebay, the average sale price for this guitar is $345.00. I have mine listed at $275.00. $80.00 below the average. There have been 363 views since I listed it. It is in very good condition. No one will buy it. Why? What happened to Ebay?
About the only thing I can think of is that Ebay now charges sales tax in all states, and, or that UPS drivers need to make $170,000.00 a year now. Maybe the end cost is too much, and it turns buyers away. Other than these two things, I don't get it.
