Can't list an item, eBay says my email is already taken
Long time eBay seller but haven't listed in a while. Uploaded the photo, did the step by step listing, I'm doing the very last step before listing, confirming my email address. eBay says my email address is blah, blah, blah, about 9 or 10 characters long. Never heard of it. Have I been hacked or some other explanation.

That usually means another eBay account is already using that email
It does not automatically mean you were hacked, but it’s something to verify
What to do
Try signing in with that email
https://signin.ebay.com
If it lets you reset the password, that means the email is tied to an account
If the email is not yours or you cannot access it
Contact eBay social support
https://www.instagram.com/ebay
They can check what account is using that email and help fix it
Important
Do not create a new account to get around this
Best step is to recover or correct the existing account so you can list normally

OP5 months agoMy email is [Removed by mod] I created an account with eBay then and have bought and sold items. That email is mine. now, what to do. The last thing possible is reaching actual customer service.

Each eBay User ID needs a separate e-mail address.
Even multiple eBay User IDs held by the same person. I normally use this eBay User ID for buying and posting comments here in the Community Forums. I created a separate eBay User ID for selling about 15 years ago. Each User ID is connected to a different e-mail address.
There are many platforms on which you can set up a free e-mail account and get a separate e-mail address.

OP5 months agoI don't see how logging into instagram will help. I am already using that email and have for ten years. Someone has somehow hijacked it. It's my email. I use it for everything else.
