Can't list a normal auction because I get error msg saying I have to add Buy It Now
I don't WANT to add Buy it Now. Is this something new? Somehow I was able to start 7 other items with no problems. Is my starting amount too high?
I just don't see how to fix this. Thanks in advance!

MentorJul 11, 2026 at 7:21 PMSounds like you may have the box checked for buy it now immediate payment. Uncheck the box and it should work.

OPJul 11, 2026 at 8:29 PMI don't have that box checked. On the other 7 auctions, it gave me 3 options, BUY IT NOW, AUCTION, and BUY IT NOW & AUCTION. I only got 2 choices on this one, BUY IT NOW or AUCTION and chose Auction. I can't find anything that mentions Buy it Now on my Auction draft. Been doing this a lot of years and never had this happen.
Thanks for your comment, though! ;-) (love your ebay name & can't get that great song out of my head now!)

A buy it now price can be added to an auction, which is why it is there. Yesterday, I was listing an item in my unsolds. It was a fixed price and I changed it to an auction. When I hit list it, I got the error message you referenced. I had forgotten to uncheck the box for immediate payment and doing that fixed the problem. If you could add a screen shot of the error it might help.

OP3 weeks agoGreat, I will look at that! I was starting to think it was related to the fact that I was having the auction started today, instead of yesterday, but that is not the problem. Thank you!
