Can't Get EBay to Cancel an Order
Summary: A participant is experiencing issues with canceling an order on eBay. inceptions responded but did not provide any additional information or solution to the problem. It seems the discussion thread lacks substantial content to address the concern.
I placed an order on 13 May 2026. The expected delivery was NLT than 26 May. about 7 days ago I reached out to the seller as he had printed a label, but hadn't gone to the PO. He said they had a bad snow storm in WY and he was delayed. I thanked him. Now it is the 28th. I checked the weather and where he lives, there has been no snow or storms all month. on the last day of shipping (26th), he printed 4 labels all for the same item. So I opened a case. EBay says I have to wait a week, but i asked for this order to cancel. I am not even sure these shoes exist!. I have been unsuccessful in contacting EBay. Even their bot says "something has gone wrong, please try again later". Why can't EBay cancel the order an refund my money? My email and his reply was done in the EBay email system so it is obvious I have contacted the seller. This person doesn't accept returns, so I am stuck if he ships it before 2 June

eBay can't cancel an order, only the seller can.
The correct course of action is to open an item not received case, which it sounds like you've done already. If the seller was impacted by severe weather (and there are been at least two major snowstorms in WY this month, one dumping 20-30 inches of snow), then that's likely why eBay is allowing more time for the package to reach you. Mother nature is not something an eBay seller can control.
(Where I live in the south, if we get 1/2" of snow, the mail carrier cannot get up my hill to pick up my packages until the snow melts. Not only that, mail trucks are likely not even running.)
If your item doesn't arrive within the additional days eBay is allowing, then you can go back to the case and ask them to step in.
Additional note: Before you decide to buy an item, I hope you are reviewing the seller's feedback to see what other buyers have experienced. If there are no problems, there is no reason to conclude the seller doesn't have the item to ship. It would be foolish of him to spend money on a shipping label he isn't going to use. You also have a choice to buy only from sellers who accept returns.
