Can't afford insurance for a truck and that's why I needed my money back, i paid 800 dollars f
And I was told I need to pay 800 dollars for insurance and I can't afford that so I'm asking for my money back

Where did you see the truck first? It wasn’t on eBay, was it?
You probably were sent a FAKE invoice that PRETENDED to be from eBay.
If you paid with gift cards … you were scammed, and there’s no way to get your money back. I’m so sorry.

OP3 years agoIt was on Facebook and I got email with a live chat and I gave the person I chatting with and she ask for the 13 number on the ebay cards I have the ID# still ebay mortor
Email was from ebay the seller name is Susan Clarki still have the ID#

As everyone has told you from the beginning of this thread, this was a SCAM. Since the transaction did not take plance on Ebay, there is no way to get your money back. When you gave the codes from the gift cards it was just like handing your cash over to a stranger.

Report the ad to FB and file a police report, but there's no getting the money back.

Mentor3 years agoBeware scammers who advertise on other sites and tell you that the transaction will be handled through eBay.
That is not how eBay works. eBay does not rely on users finding ads on Facebook or other sites and sending contact information to a seller. Likely the seller will send a phony "invoice" that appears to be from eBay but is not, asking you to pay with gift cards to have the vehicle shipped to you for a free evaluation period.
eBay has no warehouse and does not ship vehicles. eBay does not handle such transactions or provide "vehicle protection orders". Scammers often promise those things, though. Any phone number you may receive on such an "invoice" does not connect to eBay, but to the scammer.
Anyone that asks you to purchase gift cards or to send card codes to them to complete a transaction is trying to take advantage of you. Anyone asking for a gift card is looking for a gift at your expense. Once anyone else knows the code, your money will be gone and you will have no recourse.

The only way to purchase a vehicle on eBay is to sign in to eBay, find the vehicle on eBay and complete the checkout process on eBay, so that the item appears in your Purchase History. Then you typically meet the seller to inspect the vehicle, pay the seller, and collect the keys, title and vehicle.
If you encountered an ad on another site, contact that site to have the ad removed. eBay is not involved with any ads listed on sites other than eBay itself.

·3 years agoIt sounds like you’ve been scammed. Did you pay with gift cards? Is the vehicle stored by ebay? Ebay doesn’t store vehicles. These scammers are very convincing and many people get scammed.

If you purchased the truck from an ad from some other website other than Ebay, sorry to say that you have been a victim of a SCAM!!!
One method the scammers use is once you have provided payment (with gift cards, undoubtedly) they contact the victim and ask for more money for "insurance". It's all part of their scam. No legitimate Ebay seller would ever ask for gift cards as payment, and they would never ask for more money for "insurance".
Sorry to say there is NO truck and the criminals stole your money. Report the ad to the website you used to find the truck.
