Cannot sell for charity due to very old fee - that has been paid!
Others have posted on this topic but I have not seen answers that address the question.
I got an email....putatively from eBay....saying that my ability to sell for charity was suspended because I had a delinquent invoice for the "donation."
I thought the message was spam so I did not click on any links.
I DID go to eBay.com and logged in. Lo and behold, my account does say I have an unpaid invoice for a charity donation - from 2020! (Weird that they would notify me 5 years later.... but whatever....)
So.... more follow up... 1) the TOS from the time said that I would be automatically charged for this "donation." and 2) I checked my credit-card-via-PayPal .... once again.... *I have the receipt* showing that the "donation" was charged to me and paid.
So it seems very clear that both the email and eBay are wrong. I am trying to contact someone at eBay, assuming that they will wish to straighten this out as much as I do.
There does not seem to be any way to send a message to "seller problem resolution" at eBay. Do I have to send them a certified letter at their corporate headquarters? I am betting that would be unproductive and labor intensive for all involved....plus, this whole thing seems a) weird and b) bordering on abusive. Maybe it is just a good faith error, but there needs to be a way to resolve it.
Anyone have an answer?
(I am only an occasional seller but this is the second time this year a very strange billing issue has come up with eBay and PayPal. I appreciate that they handle a high volume of transactions, but it makes me kind of concerned about what is going on with their transaction records.)
