Cannot Change the Tracking Number, Receiving an "Unidentified Error"
The post office told me that the shipping was insufficient on an item, so they sold me a new stamp and tracking information at the counter. I tried editing the tracking number in eBay, but it gives me an unidentified error and will not let me proceed when trying to change the tracking number.
The item looks like it still hasn't been delivered to the post office, but it is in transit. I cannot update the tracking number. I need the tracking number updated on eBay. How do I do this?
I cannot find an answer in the FAQ, articles, or the virtual assistant. There is no apparent way to contact anyone to correct the issue.

Mentor2 years agoHi @beanslayer
Have you Voided the original label you purchased with eBay? If not you have 5 days to do that on this page, use the pull-down menu on the left of the item and select Void label: Track and manage your shipments (ebay.com)
You used the phrase "new stamp and tracking information" and not "new label with tracking number" ... if you used eBay's Standard Envelope that tracking information is NOT a normal package tracking number. It is a code scanned by metered mail sorting machines.
If it was indeed a new label with tracking number and you have the receipt you should be able to use the Edit link to the right of the original tracking number to add a new tracking number to the transaction. If you are experiencing issues try a different browser (this assume you are using a PC). If you are trying to do this on you phone you may have to use a PC.

OP2 years agoUntrue, it tells me that it is too late to void the label, yet it has not been 5 days. But then again, maybe it has been 5 or 6 days. I'm not sure, but regardless of how many days, the item has been in transit for several days now.
I tried addint a label, and i tried editing the label, but neither action works.
It's a new label with a new tracking number from the clerk at the post office window.
