Not every payment method supports a reversible payment hold necessary for an auction or offer that requires a payment method in advance.

If you use a different payment method to place a bid, in some cases eBay may allow an hour or more from the end of the auction to select a different payment method and complete payment manually before the automatic payment is made using the original payment source.

Chrome seems to be having problems displaying credit cards at checkout on eBay; other browsers I have tried still work, though. Possibly related to this issue?

Actually Chrome is not necessarily the culprit, but some issues can be addressed by manually deleting just eBay cookies in a browser that is having issues displaying checkout information.

@hal_3308 Is the card already in your wallet> https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list Maybe that's why you can't add it?
