I can not cancel an open bid I made. I don’t know how to call eBay for help.

You can retract a bid under certain circumstances:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/bidding/retracting-bid?id=4013
Otherwise you need to contact the seller and ask nicely if they will please cancel your bid. They are not required to do so.
If you win and don't pay then you can receive an unpaid item strike. 2 or more unpaid items in 12 months will block you from bidding on auctions or making Best Offers for one year.
