Cancelling a purchase
I made a purchase quite literally by accident. I immediately requested a cancellation and contacted the seller. I haven't received a response in regards to my cancellation request or my message to the seller(understandably so, in keeping with scamming prevention).
However, I continue to get messages that say I need to make the payment. I understand that I need to make the payment as regards Ebay policy. When I attempt to make payment, I get a message that tells me that action is no longer allowed.

Check your Purchase History to see if payment was made automatically.
The seller is not obligated to agree to cancel the transaction.
How does one accidentally purchase an item when there are a couple of steps to go through?

OP2 years agoWell, this "one" received an offer on a product that was identical to mine. So, I thought the offer was made on my product, but it was to buy their product. Plus, it was late and I had multiple things going on, not paying close enough attention, I "accepted the offer".
It worked out great. I gave the seller a full explanation and they graciously accepted the cancelation. I now have a completely different view of what this community is about and how we help one another. I am also more diligent in all my communications.
Thank you for your help and feedback.
