Cancelled purchase ask to pay shipping fee for something never shipped
I recently had a person buy an item however they cancelled the purchase. I never shipped the item nor received a payout. I’m being asked to set up payment details so I can pay for shipping. What the heck is this all about?

If you never purchased a shipping label and nothing was shipped, you should not owe any shipping charge. The prompt may be asking you to add a payment method for selling costs or the cancellation refund, not for postage. Not receiving a payout does not necessarily mean the buyer’s payment was never processed.
Check the exact charge here:

Check for any purchased labels here:

Do not enter payment information through an email or message link. If no charge is explained in your account, contact eBay:

eBay requires sellers to keep a payment method for selling costs and may use it when available funds are insufficient; only labels actually purchased should appear as shipping-label charges.
