Cancelled an item sale that had already been sold

I a bit confused. I sold an item in December. I just received a sale email from eBay for that same item. Once an item is sold I think it's gone off the active list so how did it not get removed. When I tried to research the sold items it was empty! I want to find out about the return funds amount as she should get it all back. I'm getting charged for the original item fees. Is that legit??

For some reason, sold items do get relisted and have been for years. All you can do is cancel the order as out of stock and refund the buyer. When you refund, your fee's will be refunded.
