Cancellation Rejected, Item not Shipped Yet

Made a purchase of a Wii Dreamfit balance board from a seller on the 4th , that I later find out, has poor communication. I didn’t realize all though it was a new open box item, the battery pack may or may not be included, although the listing said game and board only. So I sent a request for cancellation with a note asking only to cancel if the battery pack is not included. I was notified that the cancellation was rejected with no explanation why, I sent a message to the seller yesterday asking if the pack was included, so far no answer, no surprise there. My gut tells me they aren’t going to answer me or ship the item, so I’m going to go ahead and purchase it from a different seller that is more reliable. Why can’t eBay refund me and be done with it, especially given the sellers lack of communication?

MentorJul 9, 2026 at 9:12 PMBuyers can only REQUEST to cancel an order. The seller is NOT obligated to do so. If you ask nicely, explaining why you need to cancel, most sellers will cancel for Buyer Requested, although they are not required to do so. Once you receive the item, you can give it away, donate it, or sell it yourself on ebay, or another platform.
If the seller never ships, you can file an Item Not Received when it is ONE day past the estimated delivery date. If you do not receive a refund or a tracking number with information, you can go back to the case on day 4 and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund. Same time frame if you need to file a returns request for Item Not as Described.
