CANCELLATION OF AN AUCTION PURCHASE
Purchased an item from a seller, [Removed by Moderator], during an auction after submitting a winning bid. As it turned out, there were no other bidders. I had submitted two offers earlier for the same item but both were rejected. After winning and paying for the item, the seller immediately cancelled the purchase stating that the item was no longer available. I inquired about the details of this cancellation and received no response. I subsequently reported the matter to eBay and never received a response from eBay. The issue here is that the winning bid I made was significantly less than the offers I had made to the seller before the auction concluded. It is clear to me that the seller was dissatisfied with the final outcome of the auction and cancelled my purchase. I am furious that this seller just decided to cancel my purchase literally within seconds of winning the auction. Is this acceptable? If so, sellers can cancel anytime they feel the sale price was less than what they were hoping for. They have the option to add a Buy It Now or even a Reserve Price, but cancelling an auction purchase under these circumstances is outrageous.

eBay will never tell you what action they take against another member.
’no longer available’ is not one of the 3 reasons for a cancellation. If the seller used ‘I am out of stock’ then they put a bad mark on their account - more than a few of these and sellers pay a high price, in fees search placement and possible restrictions in selling.
If the seller used ‘buyer requested’ or ‘problem with address’, that is reportable.
On this page select violated policy - https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 then select doesn't want to complete transaction. In the box write 'seller lied and said buyer requested cancellation (or problem with address) to avoid a defect for a seller cancelled transaction'.
You can also use that page to report the cancellation generally - same reasons, but simply describe that the seller apparently cancelled due to the price not meeting his expectations.
Sellers eventually learn to start their auctions at the lowest acceptable price
