Canceling order where buyer paid

I inadvertently accepted an offer and that I meant to decline. I imedfdately noticed the buyer but it was a second too late since he already paid. Now funds are in hold status. I have payment baking details on file. When I cancel the order I get a message to add payment details. Canâ€™t eBay simply send the funds on hold back??

No, Ebay will not send the funds that are on hold. You need a funding source for your refunds.

Ebay will hold your payout until you refund the buyer.

If you can't fulfill your buyer's purchase, why was the item still listed?

Just be aware that this cancellation will have repercussions on your seller performance level not to mention possible negative feedback from the buyer since you relisted the item.
