canceling an order for non payment
why has ebay taken away the ability to cancel an order due to non-payment? I have an order that the buyer has not paid and I want to cancel it. The buyer won't pay, but that is no longer an option to cancel an order. this has caused problems for me as a buyer and seller. I bought an item, that was never mailed. It was canceled and I noted that it said I had a bad shipping address. I was irritated because I thought the seller was lying to make himself look fault free. But, now that I have an order that is unpaid for, I realize ebay now only has 3 options to chose from when items are cancelled. This is bad for business on both ends. It irritated me as a buyer because it made it look like I had issues. And now this time, on the flip side, I have to make it look like I did something wrong or the buyer asked to cancel. Why was this option taken away? From abuse from sellers who used it when it was not true? So frustrating!

OP3 years agothank you! I'll let eBay send the invoices from now on! 🙂 I usually do, but for some reason I thought I might prompt a payment with this one.

On day 5 you can cancel for non payment.
Help page: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/resolving-unpaid-items-buyers?id=4137
The buyer gets a strike and can't leave feedback.

OP3 years agoThank you for taking the time to answer. So nice! The odd thing about the sale is that it was purchased on the 17th of May. On the 22nd I sent an invoice and the sale date switched from the 17th to the 22nd. I am hoping after 4 days from then I can cancel due to non-payment.
thank you for answering my question.

Stop sending invoices. eBay does that for you.
Every time a seller sends an invoice, the opportunity to cancel for nonpayment resets back to 96 hours.
On the 26th you’ll be able to cancel if your last invoice was the 22nd.
