Canceling an order
Hello! I believe my first sale on ebay was, unfortunately, some sort of fraudster, and need to cancel the order. They "bought" a pair of Nikes on Friday 7/28...then asked me to contact them about a question at their instagram handle or personal email address. I requested that we continue communications on the ebay platform and that I would be happy to answer any questions that they may have here. Following my message, I never heard back from the buyer...who has a 0 rating on FB with 22 feedback messages since 2009...most of which are just one identical sentence coming from the same location. I am not sure that this qualifies for any report, or anything, alendbut wanting to have communication off of this platform seemed like a red flag to me. Even as newbie here, I am aware that all communications should stay here. Now that it is Monday...4 calendar days after the "purchase", I went to cancel the sale...the only options for the reason were "defect or not in stock", "buyer requested cancellation" and "an issue with buyers address" (which I read in an article cannot be used. As none of these are applicable to this situation I am trying to determing how to proceed. Thanks so much for all you guys do to help out those of us still learning!

Mentor3 years agoGood for you for not falling for this.
Go back to the message and select the dropdown option to report the message to eBay.
You must wait until AFTER 4 FULL days have past to cancel for non-payment. Try again this evening or tomorrow and you should see the option.
