Canceling a purchase that never arrived; case opened with no results
I purchased an item that never arrived. A case was opened and still no action by ebay or the seller; still waiting. The item has been relisted for sale by another seller using a name that was in the "item for sale" title of the original item I purchased. The sellers locations are different, as is there transaction count. This seems as a way to keep sellers funds tied up while not completing transactions. The original purchase was made just over a month ago, and was due to arrive some three weeks ago. No notifications or emails have been received from the seller, and I don't know how to cancel this purchase and release the hold on my funds. Where do I go from here. The original item number was; # 196940590105, listed by "giandalt91", Doylestown, Penn. The relisted item number is; # 274441156509, listed by "auctionfinds702", Henderson, NV. The name "auctiofinds702" was in the item title listed by "giandalt91". Where do I go from here?

OP11 months agoGreetings, Thank you for your response. My problem is where do I ask Ebay to step in and force a refund? I reported this on Aug 8th, A case was opened on Aug 14th. It is now the 21st and all I have received from Ebay is "we're on it" message. To be safe I have to change my cards as I don't know who has my financial information. I am disappointed in Ebays performance on this matter. I will be using more resistance to using your site in the future. Ebay really doesn't provide Customer Service.

If you filed an "item not received" claim with eBay within thirty days of the last estimated delivery date shown at the time of your purchase, if there is no tracking showing delivery and the seller is not cooperating, after three business days you should be able to ask eBay to step in and force a refund. After twenty-one business days from starting the case, if you do not ask eBay to step in, eBay will close the case without a refund, so be sure to ask eBay to step in if appropriate.

OP11 months agoOk, I see what you were saying about the "30 day" rule. While I waited for Ebay to resolve this issue, my time expired; thanks Ebay! Clearly Ebay is due for an performance update.

OP11 months agoBTW the 30 day rule applies to the original purchase date. Thank you for your help.

"To be eligible for buyer protections, you need to report the item hasn't arrived within 30 calendar days after the delivery date, so get in touch with the seller as soon as you can. Refunds are typically available within 3-5 business days."

Thank you for your help.
You are welcome.
Check the status of your case and if possible ask eBay to step in here:

If you wait too long to start your case or to ask eBay to step in, you may still have recourse through your payment method. Many credit cards offer up to six months protection for items that are not received. But try going through eBay first before contacting your card issuer.
