canceling a bid
Good morning. I was looking to buy a bicycle. Saw one that was an auction and was interested. The auction ended in 6 hours. I have not bought an auction item for years. I was going to wait until the last minute and bid to stop counter offers. I got the bid ready and was thinking I would confirm it at the last minute. There was no confirm. I had placed a bid.
When I looked closer the listing was a bit off. The item was not as described. I tried to contact the buyer a few time. No response. Can I cancel my accidental purchase? Thanks Gary

If there is time left on the auction message the Seller and ask them to cancel your bid. They do not have to honor your request.
If the auction ended and you won the auction you can message the Seller and ask them to cancel for you and politely explain the issue. Sellers do not have to honor your request. You can decide not to pay but in 4 days the Seller can cancel the transaction using the reason Buyer hasn't paid. Your account will receive one Unpaid item strike. That strike will take 12 months to roll off your account.
Getting one Unpaid strike in 12 months will not affect your ability to bid or buy on eBay but two will.
