Cancelation
How is a buyer allowed to drive up the bid then immediately after the auction closes cancel it so they don't have to pay for it!! And why isn't it my decision as the seller if I cancel it or not

·2 years agoWhile theoretically you could reject a cancellation case opened by the buyer within the first hour (within 3 days), you would not then be able to cancel for non-payment after 4 days unless they have fixed that loophole (only 1 cancellation case can be opened) and I haven't heard that they have. If you don't respond in 3 days the cancellation will go through.
So I'd advise you accept so you can then relist or make a Second Chance Offer. If you want to be a guinea pig and reject it let us know if s/he pays, or if you were able to cancel for non-payment after 4 days.

Mentor2 years agoA buyer can only REQUEST to cancel a transaction. It is up to the seller to file a cancellation or not. The seller is NOT obligated to do so.
If the buyer has not paid by day 4, on day 5 the seller can file a Cancellation with the reason Buyer didn't pay. The seller gets his/her FVF credited, the buyer gets an unpaid strike recorded on his account, no one can leave feedback. Two or more unpaid strikes, and the buyer will find it difficult to bid/buy from sellers who block buyers with 2 or more unpaid strikes. Do you have your Buyer Blocks in place?

As an infrequent seller, you are ripe for scammers. List as fixed price with Immediate Payment Required (you will need to switch to the advanced/business tool for that option, which is located in the upper right corner of the Quick Listing Tool), no Best Offers, and your listing will stay active until someone actually pays for the item.
