Cancel a bid.
I thought a bid was a bindery agreement. Now a bidder can cancel a bid for any reason. Maybe I should do the same.

Actually Buyers cannot "cancel" bids but they can "retract" them ... BUT ... eBay's bid retraction is for the purpose of replacing the retracted bid for a corrected bid. Sadly some abuse that feature.
Buyers have to message Sellers and ASK to have a bid cancelled, I do that when asked to avoid issues down the road like an unwanted return.
You can certainly do what you want with regard to bidding but I don't recommend bidding and then revenge retracting ...
