Cancel a bid
Hey so I by accident put in the wrong offer that I can’t pay but my phone doesn’t come up with cancel bid or anything. I went to eBay’s site and went to retract a bid but eBay can’t find anything that I budded on, the listing number says it doesn’t exist and neither does the exact title of the item. I messaged the seller to please decline my offer but if they don’t I really can’t pay it and I can’t be screwed. Any help I can get?

·1 year agoDepends what exactly the "accident" was. A typo in entering the bid amount is the ONLY bidder error that may be corrected by retracting the bid. You must rebid the correct amount (the amount you intended to type in the first place) immediately after the retraction goes through. There are time limits (12 hours before the scheduled auction end or 1 hour after the bid was placed, whichever is later, but in no case later than the actual end of the auction) so don't delay.

If you mean an "offer" instead of a "bid" the same mostly applies, but the link is different https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/buy-now/making-best-offer?id=4019&st=3&pos=4&query=Making%20a%20Best%20Offer&intent=retract&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1005#section4
ETA: Also be aware that in trading card categories bid retractions are not allowed for any reason at any time. This was due to an epidemic of "bid shielding" by dishonest bidders a couple of years ago in those categories. Not sure about offer retractions (which cannot be "shielded" the same way as bids so it shouldn't be the same).
