Canadian shipping fees - what is going on?
I have a vintage Peanuts Snoopy hoodie in kids sizes for sale. It is $15. I had a buyer from Ontario Canada reach out and see if I could lower the shipping cost. I have calculated shipping on it so I don't really have a way around it and the item is not worth a free ship offer. She said the shipping was $66 - from California to Ontario Canada.
I reached out to ebay and they said it was tariffs that are embedded in the $66. This doesn't seem right. Are tarriffs that high on preowned goods from US to Canada? If its going from US to Canada, this would be Canada levying the tariff?
I also just saw this note on ebays website. Please note: due to a technical error, some sellers may have seen incorrectly high rates for select Canada Post services this week. eBay is addressing this issue and will issue automated credits for sellers impacted by these rates over the next 2-3 weeks.
Are there errors in the system causing this high ship cost?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I used to get 3 or so international sales a week and now I get 1 every 3 months. With much more inventory in my store....
