Canadian shipping charges to US
I recently purchased coins from 2 different Canadian sellers. The listing had the selling price and shipping charges stated in both Canadian and US dollars, however, when I purchased and paid for the items the exchange rate for the item itself was correctly charged but the shipping price was not. The Canadian shipping charge was added without an exchange rate, therefore the shipping price in Canadian dollars was the shipping price in US dollars. For example the shipping price for one of the items was C$15.50, but I was charged $15.50 in US dollars, therefore, no exchange rate was applied. When I talked to eBay customer service I was told that there was nothing they could do and I would have to contact the seller for a refund for the difference in the shipping charge. I told them that I was certain that eBay calculated the price of the item and shipping charge, and not the Canadian seller, as the listing says they it is basically calculated on a daily basis. Again, I was told that I would have to get a refund from the Canadian seller. I did not no that I was charged an erroneous shipping charge until after I have paid for it. Has anyone else encountered this problem with eBay? I will contact Paypal , but I don't hold any hopes that they will give me a different answer. If so, I will no longer purchased items listed by Canadian dealers.
