Can u get paid by the post office if they damaged an item?

I am a seller and the post office damaged an item in transit. Can I be reimbursed? Also, It was double bubble wrapped. Thank you

You must have insurance on the package for the USPS to give you anything. Priority Mail and above have $50 or $100 of insurance automatically depending on your seller status. For other classes of service you must purchase insurance yourself when purchasing the shipping label.

Keep in mind that unless the package shows heavy damage the USPS will deny the claim for inadequate packaging.
