Can someone explain the delayed payouts to newbie seller?

I am a new seller her on Ebay, business is decent so far with about 7 sales in the first 2 weeks. Most of those items are in transit, en route to buyer, so I know I don't receive payout until after a piece is delivered, but my first sale was complete/ delivered over one week ago and no payout is available to me. Support agent told me I have to wait for more sale $ to complete before any payout will be made to me, but I don't really understand why. My linked bank account is in good order and I buy the shipping label from ebay and use QR code when I get to USPS. Any help would be appreciated, I have not found this kind of delay on other platforms.

Mentor1 month agoNew and also returning sellers are subject to a 31 day hold of funds. The reasoning is that this is the period of time that a buyer can request a return. Once you've "proved" yourself with many good transactions under your belt, this hold period will no long apply.
