Can officer know what inside at post office when I drop package off ?
Hello there,
I am just wondering that Can officer of Post office know what inside in the package, or carton box when I drop it off at the counter desk of Post office?
I always obtain the receipt when I drop off package, box although it was prepaid.

All packages are subject to inspection, so a postal official could open your package to check the contents. This is more likely to happen with media mail, or with packages that are leaking.

OP1 year agoThank you for the reply. I see, they can open the package.
When they scan my package on the desk, can they know what inside?
I always bring my package to post officer in person.

Mentor1 year agoThe post offices that I drop my packages always ask if anything is hazardous or liquid or potentially hazardous (I forget the entire question, but they always ask the same thing).

They cannot tell from scanning it what is in your package - there isn’t any contents info included in the bar code.
