Can not submit offers to sellers
When submitting offers to sellers withthe "make offer" button available i make it to the sibmit offer button then the app says "something went wrong" and kicks me out of the process. If i log in on firefox it works just fine but i get alot of annoying notifications from ebay because it for some reason thinks its a different device. How do i get the app to start working again?

Several other people are reporting this today.
Can you tell me if you are on on the app when this happens?
Can you try using the browser, a computer, if happens when on the app?
Let me know, and consider add your name to this thread:

OP5 months agoYes, as per my post. I am using the app when this is a problem. It has been a problem for many months. If i close the phone app and use a web browser of any type on my phone or on my laptop it works just fine. Edit: i want to be clear, i am making offers as a buyer. All articles i have found in serch engines are of 2 varieties. 1: "the seller may not offer make an offer as an option" and 2: "i cant make offers as a seller" both dont apply to me

What operating system version number and app version number are you using?
If uninstalling/restarting/reinstalling does not help or if your operating system does not support the latest version of the eBay app, report the issue to eBay by shaking your device while the app is active if you can, then uninstall the app or disable the feature that automatically opens eBay browser links in the app and use a browser to reach ebay.com instead.

OP5 months agoThanks. I was really confused. They made it really hard to update. I used to long press the app icon and select update from the drop down menu, now i dont see that option so i tried looking for it in the google app store and updating it from there which i have known to be the standard way of doing it and the serch for ebay showed no results only suggested apps. Scrolling through i did see paypal and ebay motors so i specifically serched for "ebay update" and the app poped up but not with a simple name but a 3 line sentence saying it couldnt run on my phone. So i found the update on a de-googled 3rd party privacy based site and it installed, looks different maybe a bit zoomed in like for an old person and i still cant make offers. I guess if you dont spend 1k on a new phone each a year they dont care about functionality. I will use the app as i have been and use firefox for making offers.

OP5 months agoUpdate: the app has gone to maybe looking different only while searching but otherwise the same counteroffering works but not initial offers. Edit: i am sure the update worked now when i place an order it gives me a paragraph of useless sentences as if it pleading for time. Like "processing your order" "organizing your order" " placing your order" "organizing your payment" "filing your payment" and after this in**bleep**ification the whole top half of the screen turns green and says "order placed" so i guess by how it looks like 💩 it must me down to modern standards.

It does not matter how much your phone costs or when you bought it as long as it runs a new enough operating system to support the eBay app. Otherwise, you can still use a browser for most things, though that may not help you with making (some) offers at the moment.
