Can no longer see the sellers listing discription
I was wondering if anyone can help me? I can no longer see the discription in any of the sellers listings I view. I am using a android device. When i go on a different device and view the same listing, I can view the discription with no problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app clearing out my memory restating my phone etc. There has to some setting i am missing.

Mentor3 weeks agoWhich listing numbers? There may be problems with some but not with others, particularly if sellers have not optimized their listings for mobile devices.
I am using a 2024 Moto G power 5G with Android 15 and eBay app version 6.272.0.2 and I seem to be able to view item descriptions, either using the "see full description" link, the arrow icon or within the listing itself in the app.

OP3 weeks agoI clicked on the listing you provided and the discription is blank. If i use my work phone which is a iPhone (not sure of the version) and i can see the listing discription no problem.

Mentor3 weeks agoAny difference if you uninstall the eBay app, restart your Android phone, then install the latest version of the eBay app from the Google Play Store?

Mentor3 weeks ago@masse-us2015 This appears to be a technical issue. I experienced the same thing but it worked when I clicked a second time on the See Description link. My advice is to skake your phone to report the tech issue or click the 3 dots on the upper right of the app. The more reports the quicker a problem is fixed.

ETA: I spoke too soon. What are you getting? I just tried it & it just brings me to a blank page that says Description. I searched on my own item, so I KNOW I have a lengthy description. I just tried it on another one & same problem. Do you have an older phone? Mine is older & I can no longer see them, just seeing a blank page.

OP3 weeks agoThat is exactly what is happening to me. I click on see full discription and it takes me to a blank page. My phone is a galaxy Note 8. It was working fine up until recently, and it just stopped working.

Mentor3 weeks ago@masse-us2015 Thanks for your confirmation, that's a definite concern & appears to be a bug to me. I'm trying to get a bit more info & see if I can find others who are having the same results. After that I will post it to the Tech Issues board, as this is an actual issue. But it helps to have multiple examples first. Please be patient, as it will take me a few days to gather all the info & post it. I'm on a different phone than you, so it's probably all Samsung phone or at least the older ones. Mine is a bit new than yours, but still about 6-7 years old.

OP3 weeks agoThank you for doing a deep dive on this issue. I would hate to have to replace my phone because its not working with the platform. I depend heavily on the sellers discription when I want to make purchases.

Mentor3 weeks agoI will try to get eBay's attention on it, but there is no guarantee I will succeed, so def do what @comics-scifi-collectibles suggested as well. As a seller myself who writes detailed descriptions, you absolutely SHOULD depend on those, I completely understand! I tried what my colleague @comics-scifi-collectibles said, about clicking the link twice & that's not working for me. Hopefully she can elaborate b/c in order for me to try pressing it again, I had to back out & when I clicked it the 2nd time, the exact same thing happened.

Mentor3 weeks ago@masse-us2015 I don't think that it's due to the age of your phone. My phone is a new Samsung Galaxy. It did glitch for a bit though. Did you try the reporting option as I suggested? Also in the meantime you can access eBay.com on your phones browser. You can also report this on the APP board> https://community.ebay.com/forum/mobile-apps-57915/

OP3 weeks agoI will try and report the issue this weekend, I did try and use Ebays automated report a problem. There's 1 hour I will never get back. I wish they had a good old fashioned phone number you can call and talk to a real person.

Mentor3 weeks agoWhen using the ebay app, you have to click on the link to SEE DESCRIPTION or VIEW DESCRIPTION. I am not sure the exact wording as I only use a desktop computer for ebay.
