Can I sell a bag that might be a knock off?
I have several brand new Elliot Lucca bags. Not spelled Elliott Lucca, like the designer. There is only one 't' in the spelling of the bags that I have, also the label design is totally different than the design of the Elliott Lucca bags that I see online. I'm not sure if this makes them counterfeit, a knock off, or designer inspired? I'm not really sure what the difference is between those things. Can I still list them for sale if I'm completely honest about the spelling and I'm not claiming that they are original Elliott Lucca bags?

OP2 years agoIt's not a fake. Just a similar name.

You are supporting sweat shops and child labor.
Why not contact the actual company and ask them if it’s ok?
Offshore CSReps give out bad information all the time. Don’t list those here.

it is intentionally misleading.
This practice is very prevalent, especially with sellers located in *another* country.
They will sell things that have similar names to designer brands. They are still considered "knock offs" no matter what you call them or what is stated in the description. Example: A "Gucchi" bag instead of the authentic "Gucci" is just a ploy to misdirect un-savvy buyers. Not cool!!
I do care about Ebay sellers, and I would find it discouraging if you were found in violation by Ebay after being forewarned by the knowledgeable and experienced Ebay Mentors here as opposed to the Customer Service reps.

OP2 years agoI spoke with Customer Service/ Authentication at Ebay and they said that I could list it. It's a similar name but a different logo.

OP2 years agoThe name and the logo are different. I guess that's why I'm confused by the policy.
