Can I get a refund if I don't accept delivery?

I recently bought an item for a family member for a birthday. I did not realize they too had also bought the item. They bought from the same seller, as they sent me the link. Anyway they ordered first, I ordered the following day. Both items have shipped, neither has been picked up or delivered. The question is since we don't want or need two of the same item. Can one of us not accept the delivery from UPS? Have them return it to sender and then request a refund without paying for the return shipping?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

@sama_40981 . If you refuse delivery that voids the eBay money back guarantee. The only thing you can do is file a refund return request for ordered by mistake. It will depend on the sellers return policy if they accept it or not. Sometimes sellers that have a no return policy will still accept this type of return but you would have to pay return shipping. The seller could also withhold the out bound shipping. File the request after you pickup the item.
