Can I Convert My Pakistan-Based Individual eBay Account to a US LLC Business Account in the Future?
Hello eBay Community,
I’m looking for some guidance from experienced eBay sellers regarding my current account setup and my future selling plans.
I recently created an individual eBay account on eBay.com using my genuine Pakistani details. I currently live in Pakistan, and the account was successfully created with my real name, Pakistani address, and other authentic information.
My plan is to start selling products to customers in the United States. Initially, I intend to keep the inventory physically located at my home/warehouse in Pakistan. Therefore, when I start listing products, I will accurately show Pakistan as the item location and ship the orders directly from Pakistan to US customers within the stated handling and delivery time.
My question is about the future:
If, after approximately 3 months, I establish a US LLC for my eBay business, would it be possible to upgrade/convert my existing Pakistan-based individual eBay account into a Business Seller Account registered under the US LLC?
I would remain the actual owner and would continue to live in Pakistan. The US LLC would simply become the legal business entity for my eBay business.
I would like to understand:
1. Can an existing Pakistan-based individual eBay account be upgraded to a Business Account under a US LLC?
2. Can the business information later be updated to the US LLC’s legal name, EIN, and business information while keeping the same eBay account?
3. Would eBay require me to create a completely new account instead?
4. Would having the inventory physically located in Pakistan affect my ability to operate a US LLC business account on eBay.com?
5. Are there any important verification, account-history, or policy considerations I should know before I start selling?
I want to build the account properly from the beginning and remain fully compliant with eBay’s policies. I would really appreciate guidance from experienced sellers or anyone who has been in a similar situation.
