Mentor2 years agoHi @rarerekkids
@comics-scifi-collectibles DOES know what you're talking about and has given you the correct information for using eBay today (it doesn't matter that it was different in the past).
If you have a problem with your order (you didn't receive it or you received an item that is not as described), you need to open a case to get your money back. There is no need to call the seller. In fact, to protect yourself, you should keep all communication through eBay messaging and/or a case so there is a record of it.

OP2 years agoI have filed for a return. It sounds like ebay no longer provides the seller's or buyer's personal info (address & phone number) like they did in the past. that's all I needed to know. thanks

OP2 years agoyou are misunderstanding me. In the past if i was a seller or buyer and I sold or bought an item and the buyer did not pay you could go to CONTACT BUYER or SELLER, Then provide the ebay item number and the buyers ebay name and Ebay would then provide you with a phone number and address so you could call them. I called people all the time using this service. maybe ebay no longer provides that info but they did for years.

Mentor2 years ago@rarerekkids I understand what you are saying. That was possible MANY years ago.
The rules I stated are how things work now. If you have a problem with a purchase you just need to file a refund request.

OP2 years agothanks for the reply. I used to sell a lot on ebay. And not that long ago a buyer or seller who had a transaction with a person was able to get their address and phone number so you could call them. it was like that for years. maybe it's changed.

Mentor2 years ago@rarerekkids A seller can see the BUYER'S phone number in the order details. However sellers can not share their phone number except in the FAQ's section, it's not shown to a buyer in their purchase details.

No there's not a way to get a sellers phone number other than from a listing IF they choose to disclose it in the FAQ's section. I don't think calling a seller about a purchase dispute is good idea and eBay has the MBG to deal with purchase problems, no need to talk to the seller.
I am sorry that you had a bad seller. You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. This not only gets you a full refund but also goes on the sellers record.
You have 30 days from date of delivery to file an item not as described refund request on eBay.
Select the return item button on this page: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/returning-item?id=4041
Doesn't match pictures or description.
4 business days after filing the return request if the seller has not provided a return shipping label OR sent the funds to your PayPal account to pay return shipping if they are in another country then ask eBay to step in and help:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
If you have to purchase a label at the post office with the funds that the seller provided be sure to upload the tracking number into the case. The tracking number is your proof of delivery.
Returns to countries that do not have 1st class delivery confirmation MUST be shipped Priority Mail.
See this link to the USPS website that shows which countries have delivery confirmation for 1st class international packages.
