Can a seller change their name?

I purchased an item using an inactivated credit card by accident. I cancelled the item with the seller letting them know the error and was told to repurchase the item. However, when i accessed the link the seller's name was different from the initial sellers name. Also when I click on the old link for the old name I get re-routed to a page of items under a different seller's name. This all happened within a 20 minute time frame. My question is, Is this seller legit, or can this be a scam?

@konwalia5 Sellers can have more than one account or change their user ID.

I would just go to my purchase history and locate the item to find a link to the listing and go from there. Search new listings for the same title on the sellers listings.
