Iâ€™m trying to buy a camper. I feel like it may be a scam. How can I verify if itâ€™s legitimate eBay sale?

It must be listed on eBay to be an eBay sale. There is NO other way. eBay will NEVER tell you to pay with gift cards. If the seller asks you to, it's a SCAM. eBay sales are never conducted by email. Those are all signs of a scam.

It is NOT an eBay sale unless you buy the camper through the eBay website. Otherwise, this is a common scam, and you are dealing with a criminal who is trying to steal your money.

eBay has nothing to do with listings on other sites. If the item isn't listed on the eBay website and if you don't purchase it through the eBay listing, the transaction has nothing to do with eBay.

ONLY if the camper is listed on eBay will you be protected by eBay.

If you saw the camper on another selling site and the Seller directed you to eBay, it is a scam.

eBay does not get involved in vehicle transactions. They do not call potential Buyers, they do not store any vehicles.

It is best to stop all communications with the scammers. Do not give them any money in any form, especially gift cards, wire transfers, etc.
