Cam, lifters & followers (rocker arms) set purchased 12, 20, 2023 /Defective
I installed the set mentioned due to noisy lifters on 2014 Chry. T&C 3.6L. The vehicle has not started since installation. FYI: I am a retired ASE Certified Mechanic with 50 years of experience. I had it towed to a 5 star auto repair shop for diagnosis--they informed me the crank/cam correlation was off to the point of causing vehicle to not start. Towed vehicle back home rechecked cam alignment with valve covers removed--alignment was correct so I changed all timing chain components--no problems there but replaced as I had timing cover off. still no start. Also replaced VVT bolts & Phasers at a later time. No start--back to Auto Repair thinking everything had to be right. Diagnosed as bad cams indicated by Crank/Cam correlation again. At this time I purchased a Ferrocell (magnetic field viewing film) to confirm the tone wheel sensors on cams were OK. From there I checked the tone wheel sensors for correct alignment & found ALL FOUR tone wheels are misaligned. (these wheels (magnetic sensors) are factory installed & are not adjustable. The cams are marked correctly as far as bank 1 & 2 , Int. & Exh. & for 3.6L engine, it's the tone wheels that are wrong. I do not know if these cams are for a different 3.6L model vehicle/engine. I CONFIRMED they were SUPPOSE to fit my vehicle. I want seller OR Ebay to replace these cams under warranty as I have spent in EXCESS of $975.00 for diagnoses at this auto repair. I have receipts & documentation of the cam issues. I emailed seller 6/28/2024 with NO response as yet. I am/was aware of 30 day return policy but I should not be responsible for defective parts that ARE NOT apparent with the naked eye. I had never heard of factory misaligned tone wheels before.
