calculated shipping costs
Lately, my shipping calculator is off by several dollars - when I take item to USPS to ship it, it's much higher. I am putting in the correct weight and size of the item includeing all packing materials. I don't think, based on what the USPS clerks tell me, that the shipping calculator of eBay is working properly or has the correct prices. Is this possible? I can think of no other reason why everything I ship is so off.

Mentor1 year agoPrint your labels on paper and tape them to your package. It is SO much cheaper because you get a discount. I haven't been to the post office in years!

When someone pays for postage at the post office counter, it will always be (much) higher.
Quite some time ago, eBay announced that they were automatically switching the accounts of Sellers who use calculated shipping to pass their eBay discount along to their Buyers. If you do not want to do that, you will need to go to your Account Settings>Shipping Preferences and opt out of that feature.
