Buying scam and Threatening Message from the Buyer
What should I do about the negative feedback from scam buyer ?
I'm asking for help on how to remove negative feedback left by scam buyer. I would like to draw your attention to several factors indicating possible fraudulent behavior on their part:
1. **Inconsistency in Claims about the Product**: The buyer initially claimed that the shoes were intended for their child and that they had purchased similar models numerous times. However, when I offered to return the item, the buyer stated that the shoes were given as a gift and are currently not at their home. This contradiction undermines the credibility of their statement.
2. **Condition of the Product**: I received photographs from the buyer showing significant wear and damage to the shoes, which contradicts their assertion that the shoes were worn only twice. I have sold these shoe models on Amazon multiple times without any complaints or returns, and the current condition of the product does not reflect normal use.
3. **Refusal to Return**: Despite my offer of a full refund upon the return of the item, the buyer refused to engage in the standard eBay return process and insisted on a partial refund instead. This indicates their dishonest intentions.
4. **Suspicious Address**: In conducting my own investigation, I found that the buyer's shipping address is marked as fraudulent on Google. It is described as "The specified address, 171 EDGEMOOR RD, DN07778-U6, Wilmington, DE 19809-9001, is associated with fraudulent schemes." Scammers often use this address to deceive sellers on platforms such as eBay and Etsy, claiming that the item was damaged or not delivered. This address is also discussed in the eBay community, further confirming that this buyer may have been involved in previous fraudulent schemes.
5. **Threatening Message from the Buyer**: I also received a threatening message from this buyer. Today, when I wrote again that in order to receive a refund, they need to return the item, the buyer responded: *"Did you want me to take the gift? You sold us a low-quality product at a market price! I will write reviews about you everywhere, wherever I find your name, and attach photos of your product that you sold to us. I will also write in all chats where eBay sellers are discussed. Good luck!"* I received further evidence, adding to my concerns about their intentions.
I have reached out to eBay support multiple times, requesting the removal of this negative feedback, but I have been denied. Do you consider this normal practice? I have provided all necessary requests and assistance regarding the return, but the buyer refused to follow the procedure.
Given all the aforementioned facts and contradictions in the buyer's statements, what should I do to remove this baseless negative feedback that is significantly harming my reputation on the eBay platform?

·1 year agoThe feedback doesn’t violate eBay policy, so it doesn’t qualify for removal. A calm, professional, factual response to the feedback is available to you, but be very careful with that. Sellers can either greatly encourage future buyers, or shoot themselves in the foot with the wording of the response.
My last negative feedback on eBay was because the buyer decided she didn’t like the color of the dress once she received it. I once got a negative feedback as an uber driver for “poor road conditionsâ€.
It happens.

OP1 year agoThank you for your prompt response. The thing is, she left the feedback after a month of correspondence. She wanted to receive part of the money and keep the item. I offered her a full refund on the condition that she returns the item, but she refused and left negative feedback.

·1 year agoIf the buyer specifically requested a partial refund in exchange for not leaving negative feedback, that would be considered feedback extortion and you should be able to get it removed. If it's not clearly stated that it's in exchange, however, just threatening to leave negative feedback isn't usually enough to get feedback removed. The screenshot you posted doesn't have enough for me to say it should definitely be removed, and while you say several things happened that could qualify it for removal in my opinion (though since I don't work for eBay I don't get to make the decisions), I can see enough in the screenshot that makes me think there was some heated back and forth that was probably distorting your view of the conversation and muddies the waters in any decision about that.

OP1 year agoI sold the sneakers on March 18th. The buyer still wants a partial refund.

·1 year agoSounds like the woman who left me the negative feedback about the color of the dress. Returning for a refund was “too much troubleâ€. Some buyers are fishing for a partial refund.
It’s never a good idea to get in a back and forth with a buyer. Once they express any dissatisfaction, start parroting “please return for a refund “.
if it’s been more than 30 days, at this point you don’t need to attempt to communicate with them at all.
