If a seller is not responding to messages, is it safe to make a purchase from them?

Mentor2 years agoThere are polite scammers that will respond to every question until they have your money.
There are quiet (or busy) sellers that do not respond to questions, but that still deliver what was advertised.
The fact that a seller does not respond does not provide much information for you to judge either way. But if you need to communicate with a seller and the seller is not responding to a polite message before you have made a purchase, chances are high that the seller will not respond after a purchase has been made, either.
If that is important to you, find another seller.
Look at the seller's feedback as a seller to determine what sort of seller you are dealing with. How long has the seller been selling similar items? Has the seller suddenly changed behavior recently, from selling dress patterns to selling bitcoin mining equipment?
eBay has a money back guarantee, but it is better to buy from experienced sellers to begin with rather than relying on that guarantee to bail you out and entering into transactions with untrustworthy sellers.
