buying an eBay purchase protection plan
my wife wnt on Facebook marketplace and saw a truck she would like to buy. Whomever she replied to emailed an eBay motors logo page and explained that she is to buy Ebay gift cards to pay for it. when my wife said it sounded funny, they told her that they bought an eBay purchase protection plan that guarantees the money will be handled through eBay. They gave my wife a support email address where she can go for eBay cards to pay for it: ebay@support-payments-service.com The paperwork my wife got had Ebay Motors Logo on it. "free shipping" (2) days only.........P.S. Its coming from California, and the price is $1200 for 2008 F250
I believe she is being scammed, but she wont beleive me.
Can anyone help me with this?

ebay has nothing to do with motor vehicles found on another website. ebay does not have a warehouse, does not ship to you for free to inspect and then ship it back if you don't like it. ebay does not accept ebay gift cards in payment for a motor vehicle.
If you don't find the motor vehicle listed ON ebay, with a 12 digit item number, that you either bid on or use the BUY IT NOW, the transaction is a SCAM. Stop communicating with the scammer. Report that "listing" to the website it is listed on.
