Buying a trailer
Is this typical? I'm interested in buying an airstream. Seller says "it's with the shipping company, please provide address and phone #, they'll deliver it within 3 days and I have 5 days to review & inspect it b4 finalizing purchase."

Did you find it on another website like Facebook or Craig's List and the seller said that eBay will handle the sale and you had to pay with gift cards?
If so it is a SCAM.
That is not how eBay works and they had no part in the sale. Once you send the codes for the gift cards your money is gone and there is no way to get it back. To purchase on eBay you need to sign in to eBay and complete the checkout process on eBay. The vehicle will be in your Purchase History.

OP9 months agoThey mentioned nothing about gift cards. Just that they needed my name, address, and phone number so they can register me as the buyer. The shipping company would then send me an email and then ship it to me within 3 days. Then I would have 5 days to make a decision.

·9 months agoBut WHERE did you find this in the first place? If you didn’t find it ON the eBay website first, it’s a scam. Thieves are very good at faking eBay invoices.
“The shipping company would then send me an email and then ship it to me within 3 days. Then I would have 5 days to make a decision. †sounds exactly like scams we hear about frequently.
