Hi all. I am typically a buyer but recently listed some items to sell. Each time I had successful bids on items from buyers with an incomplete delivery address and on all but one occasion, involved profiles with 0 feedback. I have heard that this is likely to be scammers. When I have asked the buyers to update their addresses, they tell me they have although the address never appears as updated. In messages, the buyer appear very keen for the item but ultimately, the address doesn't change. I had one that did eventually update the address, but when I checked it on Aust Post site, the address didn't exist. Each time I have cancelled the listing and blocked the profile. It has become so much work that I have removed my sale listings. I have blocked the profiles but a new one pops up on the next auction. Am I being paranoid? Is there anything else I can do? I see that you are located in Australia. Here in the US we must ship to the address provided at checkout and can not change it or we lose seller protection for tracking proof of delivery.
Ask your fellow sellers on the Australia Community Board how to set up Auto Payment by requiring a payment method prior to making a bid or offer. This usually is a turn off for scammers.
