Buyers small dollar items causing service disruption/seller issues
I've scaled my sports cards business and have made a lot of sales and the vast majority of buyers have had a very positive experience and give me great feedback. Lately, I've had 5-6 buyers of small dollar (under $10) sports cards that pay for eBay envelope shipping. I package nicely and use two stamps but have found that without tracking I am exposed and it seems to be hurting my store with eBay as now I have restrictions. What happens is that buyers make purchase and I mail within 24 hours -but I have heard from other buyers the mail is taking anywhere from 2-4 weeks. I cannot control that and have had people around the 3 week mark put in requests that item isn't received -I immediately contact them and say the mail is just slow and it should arrive soon. But eBay refunds their money within a few days of that and I get dinged and lose the revenue and eBay hits me with a seller restriction. The buyers never reply to me so I'm beginning to think there's an element that know they can receive the card and don't have tracking and then request a refund.
im not sure what to do other than stop selling cards with eBay standard envelope shipping. I haven't contacted eBay yet but I feel I'm being penalized by a super small minority of buyers that have found a loophole.
Would welcome any recommendations on how to best handle with both Ebay and my future sales.

·10 months agoIf you are offering eBay Standard Envelope shipping, you should not be using stamps. You need to print the labels via eBay and they will be Metered Mail shipments (the barcode and number is not traditional tracking and will not appear on the USPS site, but they do get scanned at USPS sorting facilities and provide some protection). Then, if the item is not delivered, provide a refund without letting eBay step in, and then claim the provided insurance coverage with ESE.
